Dr. Sherwood Miler’s story is deeply connected to the Lowcountry he proudly calls home. A native of the region, he graduated in the top 4% of his class in biology at the College of Charleston before earning his dental degree with top honors from the Medical University of South Carolina. His pursuit of excellence began early and has carried through every stage of his career.
Following dental school, Dr. Miler served as a Navy Lieutenant and general dentist at the Parris Island Dental Clinic, where he provided essential care to Marines during one of the most challenging times of their training. After his military service, he refined his expertise through an orthodontic residency at the Georgia School of Orthodontics, completing a fellowship in clear-aligner therapy. Today, as a board-certified orthodontist, he leads thriving practices in Bluffton and Beaufort, combining advanced clinical skill with compassionate care. Beyond his practice, Dr. Miler remains deeply invested in the Lowcountry through his involvement with the Chamber of Commerce and his membership in the Rotary Club of Bluffton—furthering his commitment to service, leadership, and community growth.
